Room 10 with our Circus Instructors George and Lil
Art This week we have been doing art. We have started by mixing colours and we thought we could link it in our writing for Anzac Day. You can do it for any holiday, all you need is yellow, blue, red, white and black. Choose what colour you like and look at the colour wheel. You match your choosen colour with the colour on the colour wheel then you make that colour, you fold the page in half. Get your paint and get the colour on your paint brush and do a strip on one half getting whiter down to the end and darker when you get to the top of your page. You can do the same on the other side but with a complimentary colour. Then you add a black silhouette cut out of black paper which you can glue on over the painted background. We have written out our Anzac poems and will mount these to go with our Anzac Art.
We have also done pastel art.
We chose our own kiwi animal. I choose a penguin. We firstly sketched it roughly. Then we looked at our picture closely and tried figuring out what colours we need. We learned how to blend colours so we could make it look like the real art work and you mostly would need whittle to blend it altogether. For the finishing touch you would go around the out side with black and it would make it stand out.

this term we are learning about communcation through the arts eg drama is a form of acting like mimming is a form of acting another form of comuncating is the news paper the news papper is commincating what is happenning aroung the world so you could know about the weather in a diffrent place around the world so you can deside if you want to book a hoilday.
Year6 production is titled ‘night of the museum’,where it is first placed in a art gallery auction. The anicent mariner interups and starts telling his adventures about all the sea creatures that he saw and about the kermadec islands. The show’s message is to be careful what we do with our marine enviroment and sea creatures. Our show is baced on the rime of the ancient mariner when it was supposed to be first placed at a weddding.

term 3 we are doing book art book art that links to our production, because some of the book art will be on display. Most of our book art in room ten is about fishing or getting caught in net because our our term topic communication. And some our story have very strong messages like don't litter it kills and to ban set nets to up to 100 meters deep, this relates to marine animals that are endangered or endanger.this means that most of our marine life is in a lot of harm and we can stop it from happening .There are also other ways environmentally friendly groups that are trying to stop this from happening and they are also trying to make more marine reserves. shine,
